Let your AI trade
Let your AI trade on Base by itself, inside limits the blockchain enforces. You approve once and can stop it at any time.
An Agent Vault lets your AI place trades for you without asking you to sign each one. You approve once. After that, your AI trades inside the rules you set, and those rules are enforced on Base, not just by Beamswap.
Start at Set up your agent.
Security status: Agent Vaults have had internal reviews, Base fork tests and Slither analysis. They have not been externally audited. Start with small limits and a small deposit, and raise them only as you get comfortable. See Contracts on Base.
What a vault is
A vault is your own smart contract on Base. You fund it, and your AI trades from it. You are the owner. Only you can withdraw, change the rules, resume a paused agent or move ownership.
Each vault is its own copy of one fixed contract. It cannot be upgraded, so nobody can change the rules of your vault underneath you. If Beamswap ships a new version, it comes as a new factory, and you choose when to move your funds.
What your agent can and cannot do
Your agent can:
Sell one allowed token for another at the market price, or place a limit order.
Cancel its own open orders.
Pause trading if something looks wrong.
Your agent cannot, even if its key or Beamswap's servers were compromised:
Withdraw or send funds anywhere. Proceeds of every trade go back to your vault.
Trade tokens you did not allow.
Spend more than your per-trade or daily limit.
Dip below the reserve you set.
Accept a price worse than your price guard allows, measured against the Chainlink price.
Keep an order open longer than your longest order validity.
Resume itself after a pause, or change any of your rules.
The vault also refuses new orders while a Chainlink price is stale, and for one hour after the Base sequencer comes back from an outage, so a trade is never priced against old data.
Every order goes through CoW Protocol. Only Beamswap's own order settings are accepted, so an agent cannot attach a foreign fee.
The worst case with a misbehaving agent is a series of trades at the edge of your price guard, up to your daily limit, until you pause it. The dashboard shows every trade as it happens.
Set up your agent
Open Set up your agent. It takes three short steps on one screen. A card on the side restates your choices in plain sentences.
1. Choose how your AI connects
Pick one of two connection types.
Claude, ChatGPT or another AI app (recommended). Beamswap holds a trade-only key for your vault and gives you a private link after setup. Paste that link into your AI app.
My own agent wallet (advanced). Paste the 0x address that your own agent or local MCP signs with. It signs its own trades.
Either way, the agent can only trade inside your limits. It can never withdraw.
Using a MetaMask Agent Wallet as your own agent? Paste its mm wallet address here.
With the first option, Beamswap stores the trade-only key encrypted, and it is never shown. The key can only place, cancel and pause orders inside your limits. It has no way to move your funds.
2. Set your limits
Tokens your agent may trade. Choose from the tokens Beamswap has enabled: USDC, WETH and cbBTC. Each has a Chainlink price feed, which the price guard needs. Pick at least two.
Per trade, up to. The most one trade may be worth, in US dollars.
Per day, up to. The most your agent may spend in a UTC day, in US dollars.
Price guard. How close each trade must be to the Chainlink price: 0.5%, 1% or 2%, or a custom value from 0.01% to 20%.
Reserve. Optional. Pick a token and an amount your vault must never go below.
Permission ends. In 7, 30 or 90 days, or choose a date. You can end it earlier.
Longest order validity. Optional. How long an order may stay open. The default is 7 days and the most is 365. Shorter is safer.
Deposit to start. Optional. Choose a token and an amount to move into the vault now. You can add funds later.
3. Approve and fund
Your wallet shows the exact steps for your choices. Typical steps:
Sign in with your wallet. A free signature. For the first connection type it also creates the trade-only key Beamswap holds for your vault.
Sign the USDC permit. A free signature that lets the factory take exactly your deposit. For other tokens you approve the exact amount instead.
Create and fund vault. One transaction creates your vault, registers your agent and moves in your deposit.
Set your reserve. One more transaction, only if you entered a reserve.
The screen shows your vault address before you sign. If you deposit ETH it is wrapped to WETH for you. Network fees are about 0.01 USD on Base.
Your agent is ready
Beamswap waits to see your new vault, which usually takes under a minute. Then you get your private AI link and can open your dashboard.
The private AI link
For the first connection type, setup ends with a private link. It is shown once.
Claude: in settings, add a custom connector and paste the link as its URL.
ChatGPT: turn on Developer mode, create a custom connector with no authentication and paste the link.
Cursor: add a remote HTTP server in MCP settings and use the link as its URL.
Then ask your AI something like "What is in my vault?" or "What did you trade today and why?".
Through the link, your AI has these tools:
vault_status
Shows balances with USD values, your rules, today's spending and whether the vault is paused.
vault_trade
Sells one vault token for another at the market price, with a maximum slippage.
vault_limit_order
Sells only at or above the price your AI names.
vault_cancel
Cancels one open order.
vault_pause
Pauses all trading.
vault_activity
Lists recent orders with status and the reason given for each.
Each tool refuses with the rule that blocked it, for example that a trade is larger than your per-trade limit. No tool can withdraw, change rules or resume a paused vault.
Keep the link safe
Anyone with the link can trade inside your limits. Treat it like a password.
Do not paste it into chats, shared documents or screenshots.
Store it only in your AI app's connector settings.
If it leaks, open your dashboard and revoke it, then create a new one.
Revoked links stop working immediately.
Your dashboard
Open Your agent. If you have no vault yet, it takes you to setup.
Status. Active, Paused, Expired or No agent, with one line about why.
Vault. Total value in USD with your holdings per token.
Today. Daily budget used, trades today, open orders and your price guard.
Live activity. Every order with its time, amounts and price, and Why: the reason your AI gave. Filter by All, Filled, Open or Skipped. Each row links to a Receipt on CoW Explorer. Open orders have a Cancel action.
Rules. Your current limits, with Edit limits.
Your AI connection. Your private links with their last use, Revoke, and Create a new link. Also your agent's address.
A new vault shows "No trades yet. Ask your agent to place its first order."
Pause, stop, fund and withdraw
Pause agent stops new trades right away. Resume agent turns them back on. Only you can resume. Your AI can pause but never resume.
Pausing does not cancel orders that are already placed. Use Cancel open orders in your limits or the Cancel action on each order for that.
Emergency stop is in the More menu. One transaction pauses your vault, revokes your agent and cancels every open order. Your funds stay in your vault. You can set a new agent later in your limits.
Add funds sends a token to your vault. ETH is wrapped to WETH automatically. Withdraw takes a token out to your wallet, or to a different address you enter. Only you can withdraw.
Edit every limit
Everything about your vault is yours to change, at any time. Open Limits or use Edit limits on the dashboard. Changes take effect as soon as the transaction confirms.
You can change:
The tokens your agent may trade.
Per trade, up to and Per day, up to. Set 0 to stop all new trades.
Price guard, from 0.01% to 20%.
Order validity.
Reserves, per token.
Permission end date, to extend or shorten it.
The agent: rotate the hosted key, paste a new agent wallet address, or revoke the agent.
Pause or resume.
A What changes card lists only what differs, in plain sentences, and the transactions needed. Save changes runs them in order.
What "Lowering a limit does not cancel orders already placed" means
Orders your agent already placed keep resting on CoW Protocol under the rules that were in place when they were created. If you lower a limit or remove a token, only new orders follow the new rule. To cancel orders that are already open, use Cancel open orders next to the limits.
Network fees and who pays gas
Your agent's trades cost you no gas. Beamswap's relayer submits them. The relayer has no authority of its own: without your agent's signature it can do nothing.
Setup costs about 0.01 USD in network fees on Base.
Actions you take as owner (pause, resume, edit limits, withdraw, emergency stop) are wallet transactions, so keep a little ETH on Base.
Trading fees. Orders carry a CoW partner fee of up to 0.1%, lower with staked GLINT. See Trade and Prices and payments.
Before you start
Start with a small deposit and small limits.
Pick a short permission end date and renew it when you are happy.
Keep a reserve of tokens you never want traded away.
Check the dashboard after the first few trades.
Read Review before you approve and Contracts on Base.
